De Conciliis makes his public debut using the crude light and expressive lanaguage of social realism. His mural cycles (1965-1974) reject violence and display concern for his fellow man—especially for the suffering and those persecuted unjustly.
—Maurizio Marini, Art Historian

It is not by chance that de Conciliis uses this form of artistic expression, with its direct, simplified means of communication, during the 1960s and early 1970s—the years of utopian social vision.
